NBY’s Youth Development Officer works with a young people in sporting and other areas to assist in developing their skills in positive directions. In collaboration with the Shire of Broome, PCYC, Red Cross and other agencies NBY engages young people in positive behaviours and confidence building using sporting, social projects and holiday programs are just some of the activities undertaken.

Encouraging Excellence Youth Scholarship

Scholarships are available to young Yawuru people, aged 12 – 30 years, who demonstrate leadership, excellence in their work or training, and who are engaged with the community. Through this fund, Nyamba Buru Yawuru supports youth with their goals and fosters their growth for future success in their chosen area of work or training. This fund is made possible by the actions of Yawuru elders, past and present, who fought for our Common Law legal rights and interests.
