GEO-SPATIAL MAPPING

NBY has a geospatial mapping partnership with the Australian National University (ANU) that helps Yawuru better understand country and improve land use decision making.

The MOLA (Multi Objective Land Allocation) project utilises sophisticated technology and other tools along with cultural knowledge to increase the information about Yawuru country and to evaluate its values and potential uses. MOLA is also used to produce information in collaboration with other partners such as the Shire of Broome who regularly undertake coastal mapping.
