The not-for-profit company has interests in a range of areas including property development, pastoral and agricultural, hospitality and construction.

Working with partners and joint ventures, NBY drives prosperity for the benefit of the Yawuru Community and is committed to a vision of an inclusive and sustainable future which empowers Yawuru and other Aboriginal people to become active and prosperous participants in the regional economy.

NBY has a leadership role in partnership with industry and government to transform the regional economy from its current reliance on public outlays to a dynamic growth-focused economy with strong connections to Asia and the rest of Northern Australia.

The Yawuru Futures paper is a policy framework for development that connects the Yawuru values to development that will benefit not only the local community but also connects to northern Australian development, empowering Indigenous native title holders and others to capitalise on the strengths of the region.

Yawuru traditional cultural values and practices are embedded in NBY’s mission which promotes a quadruple bottom lined approach that is centred on the Yawuru philosophy of ‘mabu liyan’.
